Did you know we have a book club going with my podcast? It’s nothing intense, but we read the same book each month together and have little discussions on our facebook page. Check it out.
It’s super fun and also a good way to hold yourself accountable if you try to keep up with reading like me! I usually read two books at once- one for fun, one to help me grow in some way shape or form. And sometimes for the book club I choose the fun book, sometimes I choose the help you grow book to read together. 🙂
Here are the books we’ve read so far:
August: My Fight, Your Fight – Rhonda Rousey
September: Eligible – Curtis Sittenfeld
October: How Bad Do you Want it – Matt Fitzgerald
November: You Are a Badass – Jen Sincero
December: Turtles all the Way Down – John Green
January: TBD
What does this have to do with my podcast? NOTHING, but it’s fun and there’s a great community over in our group, so WHY NOT.
Have you read any of these books? I think if I had to choose a favorite it would be “How Bad Do you Want it” But that’s hard to say because I’ve enjoyed the others for different reasons. The least favorite by the crowd is for sure “You are a Badass. It’s just a little over the top. Lot’s of good reminders and grand ideas for how to live successfully but the author is a little over the top.
One more thing before I go today- I’ve had so many people request the recipe for Glenn’s mom’s party mix that we served at my Live Show. It’s a lot of random packaged shit, but it’s really good. You won’t regret the decision to buy all these not organic, dye filled, amazingly delicious to serve at your next party. 🙂
Peggy’s Party Mix:
Ingredients:Â
Small pretzel sticks, Cheez-its, Goldfish, Bugles, Ritz Crisp andThins Sea Salt, Crispix, Vegetable Oil, Hidden Valley powder Ranch Packet, Dill, Salt/Pepper, Garlic powder, Tony’s Creole Seasoning…or any multi-purpose seasoning (Lowry’s, etc.)
Directions (From Glenn):
Equal parts mix items…or go heavier on one if you like them more. I prefer’s more cheez-its and crisp & thins to pretzels. But maybe you are a communist and like pretzels. I tend to do about 2 cups of each item. Mix them all together. Start adding oil, one table spoon at a time until and mixing together. You don’t want them soaking in oil but a nice covering to help the seasoning stick. From there start mixing in seasoning as desired. I do 2 packets of the ranch dip and then play around with how much other seasoning I know. Keep mixing as you go.
