Episode 81: Molly Ludlow
Today’s episode of I’ll Have Another is the first ever re-release of the show. I’m really excited about this though because I’m sitting down with Molly this coming week for a follow up episode that will be released next Friday. This episode was recorded in the spring of 2016 while Molly was training for the 2016 Olympic Trials in the 800 meters. If you follow track & field at all, you probably know that Molly placed 4th at the trials for the second time, missing a spot on the Olympic team by .004 seconds. When we talk next week, we will get into moving on from that and what she’s up to these days! After running professionally for Saucony for several years, Molly is focusing on some other things and you’ll get to hear all about that.
But FIRST. This was the write up from the first time she was on the show:
Molly is a BADASS. After signing a soccer scholarship at Indiana University, she only played one season before deciding to switch sports and walked-on to the track team.
Molly went on to become one of the best 800m runners in the Big Ten and even set two indoor school records. After falling just short of making the 2012 Olympic team, Molly went on to have an outstanding 2012 season as she ran four sub-two minute times. She is currently training for the 2016 Olympic Trials which you will hear all about in this podcast episode!
In this episode, we of course chat about running, but also her wonderful family, the bachelor, snapchat, books on tapes… you name it! I learned a lot about track talking with Molly and was inspired by how powerful of a runner she is, her motivation and her drive to compete at such a high level… (the highest).
