Aliphine Tuliamak won the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials in a strong race where she and Molly Siedel pulled away from a huge pack of women that stayed together for the majority of the race. Aliphine ran a time of 2:27:23, 8 seconds in front of second place finisher Molly Siedel who she worked together with over the last few miles to solidify their spots on team USA for the 2020 Olympics in Tokoyo.
This will be Aliphine’s third time on my show- so make sure you go back and listen to episode 165 where you’ll get an introduction to Aliphine and also I had the opportunity to speak with her and her teammates Steph Bruce and Kellyn Taylor two days before this race in episode 229– check that one out too! You can also see the full video of that episode on my youtube channel but if you watch or listen to nothing else, watch this short clip from before the race!
Aliphine runs for Northern Arizona Elite. She grew up in Kenya where she would run to and from school everyday and came to the United States for college where she ran for Iowa and Witchita State.
