Rest & Recover

I am having so much fun NOT being committed to training for something right now. I do think I will race the Donna Marathon in February, but 3 weeks coming off Monumental, I am so loving the rest. I’ve been running 3-4 days a week and will likely pick it back up a bit once I hit 6 weeks. I’m sooooo into a little recovery/chill period of time post marathon. Similar to my feelings post baby and surgery.

Some of my favorite things to do when I’m running less miles are – house projects and more reading. I am reading two books right now. One for the “I’ll Have Another” book club – “You are a Badass” by Jen Sincero and one on my own “Settle for More” by Megyn Kelly. You can join the book club on FB! I finally painted the back wall in our bedroom which I’d been wanting to do for THREE years. The previous owners had it painted this really ugly brown and I painted it a cozy, warm blue/gray.

As for the podcast goes – I am excited about some fun guests coming up on the show and I’m pre-recorded deeper than I ever have been before. (about 6 weeks) It’s hard to record super far out because you want the shows to be relevant to current events in case those kinds of things get brought up, but it feels really good heading into December to have a bunch of episodes recorded. And Glenn and I just recorded a fun patreon episode that’s I posted last night ALL about my experience at Beyond Monumental Marathon.

    I love your podcast (have left a couple of reviews), I look forward to Friday every week. One person I would love to hear from is Peanut Butter Runner, I love her balanced approach to exercise and health.

    I’m pregnant with my 2nd baby now and can’t wait to have her (any day now, I’m 38 weeks) and really get back into running. I truly neglected my health and happiness after having my first and want to find better balance after this baby so I’m a happier mama. I decided to start one of those 101 in 1001 lists to give myself some goals and focus. One of those goals is to finally run a full marathon (I’ve run a whole bunch of halfs). Another goal….be on I’ll Have Another! Can’t wait to work super hard and be able to tell you all the reasons I would be a great guest!

    I say look up @runningwithcadence – I know I’d love to hear her. She’s done some amazing feats. RRun a marathon under 3 hours and run the yeti 100 mike race just one year after having a baby!
