Indianapolis Women’s Half Marathon & 5K Training Program!

I’m pretty excited about a new project! Together with the Carmel Road Racing Group, I’ve launched a training program for the Indianapolis Women’s Half Marathon and 5K! The program starts in three weeks- Thursday, March 20th!

If you know anyone who might be interested in this opportunity- please send them over! I promise this will be a fun bunch and I’m excited to get started. Registration is up and running! (SO, go register now!) And hopefully you are already signed up for the race, but if not- go ahead and make it happen!



Join us for a 12-week program for the beginner, intermediate or advanced runner and/or walker. Absolutely everyone is welcome and we’ll help you decide which plan works best for you! You will receive a folder with your specific training plan on day one!

Along with a detailed training plan based on your experience level, we will be hosting weekly training run/walks on Thursdays at 5:45pm in Broad Ripple. This is a great way to get a run with the support of your fellow training partners! This is going to be a blast and we want you to be a part of it all!

We will meet on Thursdays at 5:45pm, starting with a warm up, walk/run and post run stretching. The workout will include three groups: beginners, middle of the pack and speedsters. We will always wrap up no later than 7:15pm and provide nutrition for post run.

Intro & first training session: Thursday, March, 20h, 2014 5:45pm

Location: BlueMile in Broad Ripple- We are very excited to be partnering with BlueMile!


We will have a handful of speakers along the way to talk about all things running- speakers will include, shoe specialists, dietitians, physical therapists & experienced runners.

Some GOOD stuff:

  • Custom dry-fit shirts specific to the training program will be given to each participant!
  • Gear up night at BlueMile- 20% off the entire store for participants in the program. (excluding socks & watches)
  • We will have a handful of giveaways along the way- starting with a drawing to win a BlueMile gift card of the first night!
  • A second training shirt will come at the half way mark of the training program! (that’s right- you get TWO shirts) Motivation to stay committed!
  • Team Socials – you want to get to know your training partners a little more outside of running too right? We’ll have a couple of post run socials throughout the training

Post Race VIP Tent:

We will have a special tent set up for the training team where you can meet up with your friends you’ve spent time with leading up to the big day!


The fee includes your training plan, group workouts, speakers, training shirts and VIP tent access after the race.

Can’t make it to the runs but still want to be part of the program? We will send you a training plan for the 5K or the Half Marathon based on your experience level & also send you a training shirt for a discounted price!

Meet the Coaches:


Lindsey Hein is an RRCA certified running coach and has been running for over 15 years. She is currently a coach for Out for a Run Training and has coached dozens of athletes to the finish line of races of all distances, including 5Ks, half and full marathons. She has run 12 marathons with a PR of 3:13 and half marathon PR of 1:33. She has personally participated in the Indianapolis Women’s Half Marathon twice- in 2012, just 9 weeks after having her first child and in 2013 finishing in 10th place.

Lindsey is passionate about the sport and has developed a program that you will be sure to enjoy and thrive on. This detailed plan that will help the beginner, intermediate or advanced runner get to the finish line successfully. Lindsey lives in Broad Ripple with her husband, son and dog and spends a lot of time on the monon. She is excited to get started and work with you to help you meet your goals!


JeanetteJeanette DeBruhl has been running for the majority of her life.  She has completed one marathon where she accomplished her goal of breaking four hours with a time of 3:54. She has competed in many half marathons with a PR of 1:47.  She participated in the Indianapolis Women’s Half Marathon in it’s inaugural year and in 2012 as a volunteer. 

In addition to running she is an academic advisor at a local university and is passionate about helping others to be happy, successful individuals.  She lives with her husband in Carmel and loves to cook, try new restaurants and spend time with friends.

When Jeanette decided to run her first half marathon she had never competed in a race longer than a 5K.  Crossing the finish line gave her a huge sense of accomplishment and she is excited to help others in reaching their goals as they prepare for the Indianapolis Women’s Half Marathon.


Dennis Porter is an avid fitness enthusiast who enjoys being active and is always taking on new challenges. He loves to share his passion for healthy living with others and enjoys encouraging others to set and meet their goals as much as he enjoys meeting his own goals.

Dennis is very active in the running community and enjoys giving back by helping to organize races throughout the Midwest. Dennis serves as the President of the Carmel Runners Club and enjoys the role the club plays in helping people live healthier lifestyles. Dennis lives in Westfield with Kiko, the world’s cutest/craziest dog.
