I wanted to take a moment to publicly congratulate my wife, Lindsey Hein, on her new job with Back on My Feet. She will be the Director of Communication and Corporate Relations for the new Indianapolis chapter. For those people that read Runners World you may recognize the name of the organization they were featured in a February 2009 article about their founder, Anne, and how it all came to be. But back to Lindsey, she will be starting her new job this Friday, March 4, 2011. It has been a wild ride for her in the last ten days or so. It seems like forever ago that she began to write and call on BoMF about job opportunities for Indianapolis when she found out they were expanding to Indy. Just like with any marathon training plan things don’t go as they are supposed to and Lindsey went months without hearing anything out of the corporate office but she did not flatter in her determination, just like out on the road in the early morning hours when the real work gets done for race day Saturday or Sunday, to make her dream a reality. She continued to stay on their radar: signing up for volunteer opportunities, emailing people associated with BoMF, following the blog. etc.
Flash forward to about two and half weeks ago when out of no where she got the call for the interview. That came on a Wednesday, Skype interview on Thursday morning, and job offer by Thursday afternoon…crazy to say the least.
We are now staring into the unknown future of what this new opportunity will bring come this Friday but I can say with absolute certainty that I know without a doubt in my heart that Lindsey will give this organization and the people a 110% effort everyday and will be a great success! If I could put up a picture of her feet and then show the marathons and miles put in you would understand how I have no doubt about her ability to succeed…she probably does not want her fee on the old www.
