Oh I really think I want to get something for the music/podcast situation! Sometimes I like that I’m forced to do nothing but swim. No phone distractions or anything, but I want to be constantly learning or listening to something! Good call on the tri garmin! Thanks for reading- let me know which headphones he ends up going with that worked well!

He has the triathlon Garmin so he doesn’t have to count laps. I can see how that would be a problem if you get too into your music/podcast! He’s gone through several waterproof headphones this last year and finally doin some that he loves. I’ll find out the name and let you know!

I feel ya- the motivation to get in the pool is so hard to find, but like a new runner, I find if I stay consistent, even if it’s just 500 meters as long as I get in the pool and stay on top of it it becomes a routine and part of my schedule. There’s just soooo much more work- you have to get in your suit, water… blah blah blah!! 🙂

Hey Allie! Thanks for this- I kind of want the shuffle you’re talking about but think I want something where I can listen to podcasts and not sure shuffle can do that?? Best of luck with training for nationals- that’s awesome!! And seriously these googles are so great!

I love swimming, but getting to the pool takes so much more willpower for me than going for a run. I am also thinking about a waterproof ipod!

I also need a new pair of goggles so I guess I came to the right place. I actually have the Waterfi waterproof iPod shuffle and it’s definitely a game-changer. I bought it when I was injured and had to do a lot of pool running. If I didn’t have that I have no clue how I would have survived! I use it now for mostly free lap swims since I find it hard to focus on a “tough” workout when there’s music in my head.
Good luck and looking forward to more posts about swimming since I’m gearing up for triathlon nationals in Aug 2016!
