This is the most special community and event I go to all year and it will be my 6th year partnering with the Donna Foundation and Visit Jacksonville for this amazing weekend.

The course is flat and FUN! It starts and finishes on the beautiful Jacksonville Beach (no sand running though!!). My favorite part is one of the streets around mile 10 or 11 of the half marathon where there are tons of flamingos and pink paper mache hanging with great music. You are so close to the finish and it’s just so uplifting.

This race is the National Marathon to finish Breast Cancer and funds go to support those walking through a diagnosis as well as helping fund groundbreaking research as they partner with the Mayo Clinic.

Come run with me!! February is the perfect time to get down to FL and run a race. It’s great timing if you are training for a spring marathon as well if you need to tune up and just see where you are fitness wise.

The official race hotel is at the Courtyard Jacksonville Beach Oceanfront. (Hello oceanfront rooms!!) and we will be having a really fun post race party on Sunday so make sure you book through Monday!

Visit Breastcancermarathon.com and use the code “lindsey10” for 10% off your registration for any of the races that weekend.

Who’s in?? Can’t wait to see you if so!

PS – YES I will also be at the Olympic Marathon Trials that weekend in Orlando…. the good news is Jacksonville is only 2 hours from Orlando so I’ll be driving over at the trials in the later afternoon!

Gonna be a weekend to remember!!!

Still I Run is a community where people can share their experience of dealing with depression/anxiety etc. through running or any other type of physical activity. We encourage one another to take time out of our busy lives to run for our mental health. Through various programs we offer, we hope to educate others about running for mental health, raise mental health awareness, provide encouragement to others, and help people experiencing hardship get started in their running journey.

Still I Run was founded by Sasha in 2016, however the idea for the group came to her a few years earlier. In 2011, she was hospitalized for anxiety and depression and one of the coping mechanisms she learned while getting help was the concept of creating healthy routines and habits. One day, shortly after discharge from the hospital, Sasha put on a very neglected pair of running shoes and decided to go for a short walk. That walk felt so great, that she kept doing it on a regular basis and eventually started to go faster and longer. She hasn’t stopped running for her mental health since.

Once she discovered the benefits of running for mental health, Sasha wanted to connect with others who do the same thing. Unfortunately, she couldn’t find a group anywhere.

Sasha is the mother of two, with one on the way, works full time and runs Still I Run in her spare time. She is so passionate about the mission of Still I Run and you’ll sense that in this conversation!

He debuted the marathon just two years ago at CIM in a time of 2:17, qualifying him for the Olympic Trials. He also had the super cool and fun job of pacing Sara Hall at the Marathon Project back in December and he shares about how he landed that duty in this episode.

In this episode we dig into his pacing duties pacing Sara at the Marathon Project and we also talk about his big dream goals for his own running career which is blossoming! He has only really raced two marathons and has a goal of breaking 2:14 this summer and even bigger plans beyond that.

One of my favorite parts of this conversation is when he talks about mindset and how he feels about racing. I hope it will help all of us reset how we think about it and enjoy it just a little bit more!

This was a super long conversation so I pulled out a couple of parts and those pieces will be up on Patreon for extended conversation if anyone is interested in hearing more! You can access that at Patreon.com/LindseyHein. I drop bonus episodes over there every single Wednesday.

Big thanks to listener Gieselle for suggesting JJ for the show!
