I have been wanting to talk with Jordan since the fall and am excited to have finally had the opportunity to talk with her.  Many would have said she was a favorite going into the Olympic Trials Marathon if she was healthy and ready to race but she walked away finishing 26th. You’ll hear about what happened during the trails, how she felt and how she’s feeling post race. We also talk a little bit about how she’s been feeling since the separation from her long term coach Alberto Salalzar and how it’s been working with her new coach, Paula Radcliffe.

Make sure you listen to the first two times she was on the show- episode 128 and episode 179.

Jordan Hasay is one of the fiercest long distance runners in the World. She just announced that she’s running the Chicago Marathon this year and I was honored to chat with her about it! At just 26, she already has so many amazing accolades to her name. She was a stand out phenom in high school, winning the cross country state title all four years. She went on to run for the Oregon Ducks where she had 18 All- American Honors to her name.

Jordan now runs for the Nike Oregon Project and has been moving up in distance over the last few years. After she missed making the Olympic Team in 2016 in shorter distances she debuted the marathon in a time of 2:23, placing third at the Boston Marathon in 2017 – a debut faster than any American Woman ever by 3 minutes,  just months after her mother Teresa passed away. She then went on to run a 2:20:57 at Chicago the following fall, again placing third. Jordan had to step down from racing Boston this year due to injury and we all can’t wait to see what she can do in Chicago this year. Jordan isn’t shy about her big dreams for 2020 and beyond. She is sweet and kind and has this giggly personality that’s a little bit contagious. I walked away from the interview happy and excited for her future.
