Week Rundown & Cyrotherapy GIVEAWAY!!

I felt much better this past week and was able to add some miles in! Glad the plague is behind us. I hit 34 miles and Glenn was around 55. We are slowly getting back up to where we’d both like to be. Having another kid is no joke. I mean beyond the whole body adjusting thing, it’s a time thing too. Glenn has usually always been a 5:00am runner, but has taken that 5:00am kid shift the past couple months and it’s been tough to get the miles up. Thank God I talked him out of that 50 miler he was gonna do in March. I don’t think we would have both made it out alive. Something tells me he would have been the dead one though. I get mean when I don’t sleep.

So here’s the run down of my week:

Monday: 4,5 Mi + 45 Min TRX + Cyrotherapy & Normatec boots

Tuesday: 7.5 Mi on Monon + William Creek. @ 8:25 (Faster Finish with a little hill action in the middle. Butt was feeling WEAK)

Wednesday: 6.6 Mi w/ Larra downtown @8:31

Thursday: REST – wanted to do yoga but didn’t make time

Friday: 10 Mi @8:34

Saturday: Rest

Sunday: 5.1 Mi @ 9:00

Total Mi: 34 Mi

I’m trying to be super proactive with taking care of my body outside of just running. As someone who has been a habitual lazy runner for many years, as I have entered my 30s, I have realized how important it is to be strong beyond running and play nice with my recovery. I am 5 weeks in to my TRX workouts and am excited about what that outcome might be in a few more weeks. I think I am stronger already because of it, but I also think it’s a work in progress… I started out way behind what my normal “fit” feels like, so will be interesting to see where it takes me. Talk about feeling weak in the core. Having a baby is the real deal man.

I’ve also had the opportunity to try out some Cyrotherapy & Normatec boots for the past two weeks. I started going to Dr. Charbel for my plantar fasciitis back in June. Within a week he had me out of the Orthotics and gave me all kinds of good exercises to take care of the problem. Probably the biggest medicine was NO RUNNING for 6 weeks. After 15 years of wearing orthotics- I’m orthotic free. Yay!

So Dr. Charbel has an awesome new business and I have the opportunity to share it with one of you!

CYROTHERAPY.

What is it: Whole Body Cryotherapy is a leading-edge innovation using hyper-cool temperatures to accelerate healing in soft tissue, joints, and to increase metabolism.

I’ve tried this out twice now and it truly does make my body feel so much better. I’m not into high mileage or crazy workouts yet, but I can already tell this machine recovers the crap out of your body. You think sitting in an ice bath for 20 minutes is good.

I also tried out the Normatec boots. These are a little less extreme than the cyrotherapy, but man it feels good and is super relaxing. The Norma tech boots employ dynamic compression in the form of Sequential Pulse Technology (pulsing). Because Sequential Pulse Technology more closely mirrors natural muscle movement, Normatec is much more effective than traditional compression methods.

SOOOOOO, I have a giveaway for a 30-minute normatech + 2 minute Cyrotherapy! (trust me you don’t want more than 2 minutes!)  Indy or surrounding area people – sign up below to be entered!! You won’t regret it!
