Thanks for reading Sarah and I’m glad to hear other people can relate. I am two weeks into no running and some days I’m feeling frustrated but I keep coming back to telling myself to settle down and just enjoy where I am right now. I’ve been doing a lot of baking. 🙂 I’m sorry about your Grandma- I went through that last fall. Not easy. Best of luck with what’s next for you! Are you back to running or still nursing injury?

Seriously.

I’m training to PR in the half marathon this fall and hope to break 4 hours in a marathon this spring. So I’m not the fastest runner. Then again, none of us (that I know of) are going to the Olympics or breaking world records.

So when I had a nagging knee injury this spring, or when the past few weeks of training sucked for various reasons including the death of my grandmother, it just didn’t seem that important. We’ll meet out goals eventually if we’re patient and don’t freak the f*** out any time we have a few weeks off intelligently dealing with a injury or a sorry tempo run. And if those goals aren’t meant to be, no one will die.

Thanks for reading this ramble. This post was great!

Our lives will go on and it’s important to have other hobbies outside of running for mental and physical health.
