Hi Gracie. That sounds like a hamstring. Does it hurt while you run? They can be tricky injuries. If you don’t address the issue they will stick around.
With the recovery, yes it is a lot of foam rolling and hip exercises. In my experience, a lot of running injuries comes from a weak hip gridle so I spend a lot of my time doing Coach Jay Johnson’s hip routines. I also warm up and cool down before and after every run. I do not ice or use heat…probably could but I don’t. Hope it gets better.

When I bend at the waist I feel a deep, sharp, pain. Sharp, but mild. Is that hamstring?!

What do you do for your hamstring besides foam roll? Any ice or heat or anything?
