In reply to Kristen L. Oh you are totally right about the personality thing- it clicked so easily, worked out better than I ever would have thought. I'm still in the game of enjoying alone miles too- but sometimes it's just really nice to know you aren't out there alone! Like today- we did K repeats- and having her, along with another new running friend out there working hard too made it go by faster! Good luck with your training!!

I think it is really cool that you were able to make a friend while racing, and continue to run together on a consistent basis. I think it must take the right personality on both your parts. I currently do all my runs alone, but I think I would enjoy doing some with a friend if I found someone the right pace.

Tell Maggie I say hi!! She’s faster than she even realizes… if she trained hard, she’d blow her times out of the water. If we’d live closer we could run together sometimes- I did run with mom the other day and we ran 11 minute miles. I don’t discriminate on pace for all runs.

yay running friends! 🙂 Maggie is my running buddy, even though she is faster than me. It is nice to have someone to pair up with!!! I wish your sister was as fast as you as you so we could actually run together!

Some of my now best friends have come from running partners that I have met at races. Not going to lie about that and I’m certainly okay with it. I used to run with a mixture of people in Upstate NY but now being home, my schedule hasn’t quite allowed for that lately. I cannot wait to be able to run with people occasionally again (hopefully in August I’ll have more time).
