Thanks for the shout out and congrats on the race! There’s a lot to think about, but its all about what you want from the race. Some people don’t care and go into them unprepared. I try to help people enjoy the race, and am obviously an advocate for knowing the rules, which means your overall race experience is better. I’ve done clinics on this stuff for local tri clubs and nearly everyone is glad to know it before they race, rather than learn the hard way. The more you do it, the more you learn. That also means there is a lot of free time you can earn from simply racing more and figuring out what routines work. Congrats again!

Tips from what I remember would be make sure your goggles are fitting well (leak proof), keep looking up on the swim (so you swim straight), be prepared for weird feeling legs for the first k or so of the run, don’t crash on the bike!

I think the HIM will be less intense, but harder.
