BUT I have always wanted to do a triathlon so this summer I will be teaching myself how to swim and hopefully accomplish my first sent triathlon in August. Glad to have run across your blog and see that I am not alone in my crazy attempt to learn to be a swimmer.

It confirms for me my dread for being the slowest runner in the entire world that may never accomplish 5 miles is probably not unique to me. Tomorrow I will wake up, fuel properly and run that dang five miles that has been hanging over my head all week.

Hey! So glad you can relate. I kind of feel the same about the bike too, but have much more experience biking than swimming (although that doesn’t mean a ton of experience!). I’m signed up for Muncie 70.3 in Indiana on July 13th. Let me know which one you end up signing up for!! When is your spring? Good luck!

I want to sign up for a half ironman because I’ve recently started biking and love it. I swam in high school and am a runner, so it’s the biking part that I share sentiments with you in this post. I’ve never done a triathlon either. I’m signed up now for a sprint and will sign up soon for an International, but I know that I want to work for a half iron at the end of October. I’m glad I found your post through twitter! I look forward to reading more about your training. Which half iron are you doing?
