Work With Me

News and Updates

Today’s Seven

Today I woke up feeling unmotivated to be good at life…. just kind of BUH. I slept in until 7:00AM and wallered to the kitchen to make breakfast, (Kashi, Stoneyfield Yogurt, Blueberries, Rasberries, banana and a tiny bit of Peanut Butter and Cinnamin- Yeah it’s a high sugar breakfast, but it’s really good). I worked a little bit and at 9:30 decided I needed to force myself out the door for a run or it wasn’t going to happen.

So I headed out for my 7 mile loop….down to 38th street and back up to Broad Ripple Ave. from there. As I was running my motivation to get things done perked up. I was feeling good- not running too fast or too slow… just right. It reminded me of the steady pace I kept at the Flying Pig Marathon.

On this particular route, when you hit the trail on Westfield you have 3 miles to go and always have to run by the geese who live on the canal. Usually they move out of your way but today, they simply didn’t move at all. I had to run through a pack of 10 of them. I really thought I might be taken down kept and picturing myself on the ground with these geese just going to town and people driving by laughing. Thankfully I got through with no goose incident.

Here’s what I was listening to on my run today:
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals – Ah Mary
Journey – Any Way you want it
Asher-Roth & Cee-Lo Green  – Be my myself
Citizen Cope – Son’s gonna rise
Lupe Fiasco – The Show Goes On
Carolina Liar – Simple Life
Eminem – Almost Famous
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals – Medicine
Asher Roth – G.R.I.N.D.
OneRepublic – Everybody Loves Me
Broken Bells – The High Road
Big Tymers – This is How We Do It Where I’m From
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals – Here’s to the meantime

If you aren’t listening to Grace Potter yet- get to it… good stuff for sure!

I’ll be meeting up with the Indy Runners on Saturday morning to meet some new people and talk about BoMF a bit. While I’m hanging out with my new running friends- there are two other events I will be missing out on. Glenn is going to be competing in his first triathlon. I wish so badly I could be there to cheer him on when he comes out of the water. Although I won’t be there, Brooke, Abe & Kyle all plan to come out to support him. The other event I’m missing is the BoMF race- the teams will be running Pogue’s Run 5 Miler…. which should be cake for them considering most just ran a half marathon two weeks ago. Good luck to my crew!

On Sunday our  plan is to head down to Bloomington with Brooke & Abe to run some hills in preparation for the Red Eye Relay – we are running as a four person ultra team!

Here’s to the weekend ahead!
