I’ll Have Another Podcast Episode 77: Sarah Holsapple

Episode 77 of I’ll Have Another is a conversation with my good friend Sarah Holsapple. Sarah is married to Casey and they have two adorable kids, Henry and Ellis. I met Sarah when we were connected through a mutual friend to join a monthly supper club, which we’ve been doing for almost a year now. I feel so thankful to have created such valuable friendships in my city… we have a group text with four of us momma’s in the group who can ask open and honest questions with one another and also give open and honest feedback with one another, even when it might not be exactly what one of us wants to hear. A true friendship.

Sarah is a runner, and a crossfitter. I happen to be writing her a training plan for the remainder of her Indy Monumental Half Marathon training, as she is looking to set herself a brand new PR this year. She has run over 10 half marathons and one full marathon. We get a little bit into some training stuff in this episode which is fun, and I teach her the very valuable lesson of slowing down those easy runs. Ya’ll know I’m preaching on that everyday.

I’m so proud of Sarah as she recently started her own business, Holsapple Communications. One thing that I took away from this episode was that if you aren’t happy with what you’re doing- like really truly happy; do something about it. Changes might be intimidating, but doing what you love is worth it.

Sarah is a former reporter turned company spokesperson, now working in public relations and media relations for her own company. One thing we discuss in this episode is the fact that her business is Women Business Enterprise certified by the State of Indiana- what that means and why it’s important. Sarah’s dropping the knowledge.

Enjoy our chat! And you don’t realize it but we are sitting in the most gorgeous office that I will admit right here and right now, I am super jealous about. There was bourbon on a tray behind us. Straight up Madmen. Maybe I can convince her to just let me work from her house on the regular.

500 Festival Mini Mini

My family loves the 500 Festival Mini Marathon so much and this year we can’t wait to participate in the Mini Mini! The Mini Mini is a timed fun run designed specifically for kids ages 5 – 12.  It gives kids with an experience similar to the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, that’s sized just for them. The race includes course entertainment, massive cheering sections, participant timing, and the coveted mini-mini medal (a smaller replica of the Indy Mini medal). All participants will start and finish at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s famed Yard of Bricks.

There are five different race distances will be offered, ranging from half a mile to 2.5 miles, so participants to select the race that best meets their age and ability.

The race is  Sunday, September 17 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway- open to kids ages 5-12 and guardians can pre-register their mini runner for $15 at IndyMini.com. As I’ll Have Another listeners can use the code Another17 to save $3 on your mini-mini registration.
