I’ll Have Another Episode 26: Dorothy Beal
Dorothy is a runner (who loves the marathon!), a mom and the writer behind the blog Mile-Posts. She has run 31 marathons- taking her time from a 4:20 to a 3:11 – say what?!
In 2012 Dorothy was featured in the Saucony Find Your Strong Ad Campaign and won the Women’s Running Magazine Cover Model Contest, and in 2014 was featured on the cover of Competitor Magazine.
Dorothy’s writing has also been featured in: Runner’s World Magazine, Fitness Magazine, Competitor Magazine, Run Washington Magazine, and Women’s Running Magazine. I’m a Rock N Roll Marathon, Garmin, Brooks Run Happy, Sparkly Soul, and Nancy Rose Performance Ambassador!
She is a full time momma to Chloe, Miles and Colton and also does a lot of free lance writing, blogging, social media and speaking at race expos and events around around the country, selling I Run This Body t-shirts.
I had a lot of fun getting to know Dorothy- we’ve been following each other for quite some time on social media, but I had never talked to her face to face and you know that has to be one of my favorite things ever about this podcast. Though I don’t see most of the people I interview in person, seeing them on skype makes it feel like we’ve really just sat down for a cup of coffee or wine.
In this episode, we talk about how she turned her blog into a business and what that has looked like over the years. We talk about mom stuff, running stuff and even some not so easy stuff like dealing with on-line scrutiny you encounter when you put yourself out there. We of course get into some fun stuff Dorothy is loving and what current shows she’s into.
